It is with great pleasure to have serve on ACSA board. Right from inception in 2007, ACSA is taking steps and contributing to a number of thematic areas that include; Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural market development, research and advocacy, policy and dissemination. These aim at increasing MOs and farmers` understanding of policy issues affecting small holder farmers in Uganda. Our activities have been complimented with the close collaboration with line ministries and research Institutions like: the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and fisheries, MWE, NARO and other stakeholders, which has greatly Increased our visibility in the policy and advocacy arena.
We shall continue to pursue partnerships with likeminded CSOs, farmers, Development partners and Government for enhanced working relationship and constructive policy engagements in Uganda and beyond. During the year 2017 In 2015, our interventions were centered on some of the key issues that are still pertinent for farmers and the agriculture sector in Uganda in general. These included integrating Agriculture Sector into National Adaptation Plan (NAP – Ag), Climatic Change Adaptation and mitigation , Water for production, budget allocation to agriculture, Counterfeit Agro Inputs, Digitalization of Agriculture Value Chain and Biosafety law engagements. As we work towards autonomy of ACSA institution, We are particularly grateful to Misereor, USAID Feed the Future Enabling Environment, Caritas Kampala, ACSA board and membership who are actively supporting us Financial and Technical in this process.
